Mirror Lake Circle – 2.6 Miles
Start at The Fallen Arch or anywhere along this short, classic, Lake Placid run – you’ll always end up back where you started! Around mirror lake, you’ll experience all of downtown Lake Placid and the Olympic Village, it’s architecture, stunning mountain views and the iconic Ironman Swim/Start location. Pavement and brick sidewalks line your route for the entire distance. Great early in the morning at 5:30 am and also in the evening as the sun goes down. John Brown Loop – 6.4 Miles
This fun run offers a close up view of the famous Lake Placid 120m Olympic Ski Jump and a short run around historical John Brown Farm. Start at The Fallen Arch or anywhere else on Main Street running towards the intersection of RT 73 (Named: Sentinel Rd.) and RT 86 (the second traffic light.) Make a right on to RT 73 (Named: Sentinel Rd.) and continue to John Brown Rd (across from the Lake Placid Horse Show grounds.) Make a right onto John Brown Farm Rd., go to top of the hill and around the circle at historic John Brown Farm. Stop for a moment to take in the beautiful mountain views and this historical landmark. On your way again, you’ll continue out of the circle and down to John Brown Extension (road) on your left. Take this left and continue to the intersection of Old Military Rd. Make a left onto Old Military Rd. and continue to the intersection of Station Street. Make a right onto Station Street and continue to the 5-way intersection. Cross the intersection and climb the big long hill (you can’t miss it!) Continue straight to the intersection of Main Street. Make a left and continue to town, right back to where you started. Lake Placid Ironman Loop – 13.2 Miles
Run any distance on the Lake Placid Ironman Course as you want! This is a great out and back and is very popular with the Ironman crowd! Beautiful views of the Olympic Ski Jumps, Whiteface Mountain, and the Ausable River. Start at the Fallen Arch or anywhere on Main Street, Lake Placid. Continue heading out of town to the intersection of RT 73 (Named: Sentinel Rd.) and RT 86 (the second traffic light.) Make a right on RT 73 (Sentinel Rd) and continue out toward the Lake Placid Olympic Ski Jumps. Pass the Lake Placid Horse Show Grounds (on the left) and the Lake Placid Olympic Ski Jumps (on the right) you’ll run over the bridge and make a left onto River Rd. Run to the end of River Road, turn around, and run back along the same course you took on the way out, right back up into town where you started. (Zoom in on the map below for all the details.
